Bedroom Makeover-One Room Challenge Spring 20

This spring I completed my first one room challenge with the help of my wonderful husband! It was such a fun and exhausting experience and I can't wait to do it again. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the One Room Challenge here is some information from their website:The One Room challenge™ will provide participants with a supportive, enthusiastic forum in which to share the process of transforming a room.

The ORC is not a competition, but rather a celebration of creativity, inspiration, and original ideas.

Each round, twenty design influencers are selected to take the challenge, as Featured Designers, and transform a space. Every Wednesday, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over six weekly posts. I have witnessed many room makeovers in the past and knew exactly which room I wanted to complete, our bedroom. When we started renovating, the bedroom was last on the list. I wanted all of our living spaces done first, as most people do, but failed to realize the importance of the bedroom. The room we probably spend the most time in, where we rest and sleep each night to recharge for the next day, the room we get ready in and start our day in each morning. There are so many reasons your bedroom should take just as much priority, but I'll save that for another day.

When we bought the house this is the condition the room was in.
We slapped some paint on the walls and installed flooring and called it a day.

Here is my mood board I created for the design. I wanted to emphasize the architecture by installing shiplap and beams. I also wanted to create a very serene room with a soft color palette and mix of patterns.

And here is the final result.

I am truly so happy with how it turned out. If you are interested in sources I have everything linked on my LTK page: https://www.liketoknow.it/lauraerinhome Comment and let me know what you think!
